Former 2014 camper Joe Junior Mvuezolo has signed with NCAA Division 1 school Montana State University on a full athletic scholarship for the 2016-17 season.

Mvuezolo, who graduated from Barking Abbey in 2014, averaged 10.3 points and 3.5 rebounds at Miami Dade College this season helping him to gain a NCAA Division One scholarship.

The 6-6 forward shot 41% from the floor, and his 39% three-point shooting was 69th in the National Junior College Athletic Association. He earned First Team All-Southern Conference honours as a freshman at Miami Dade.

“Mvuezolo brings a diverse skill set to the Bobcat program,” MSU Head Coach Brian Fish said.

“Joe is a 6-6 wing that could be our best athlete. His length and ability to shoot the basketball are very enticing, but his athleticism combined with his ability to shoot the ball give us something we sorely need.”

From everyone at DENG Camp, we want to wish Joe Junior all the success as he joins an NCAA D1 programme.
