#1 ranked player Jules Dang-Akodo faced off against fellow Brit, Liam Carpenter (ranked #17) in the first round of the U19 Playoffs in Germany.

It was Dang-Akodo who led his team to a 2-1 series victory averaging a staggering 23 PPG, 6 RPG & 5 APG booking his Fraport Skyliners a place in the next round of the Playoffs.  Liam Carpenter certainly held his own putting up solid numbers in the series of 11 PPG, 5 RPG & 3 APG whilst playing a team high 33 minutes per outing for Basket Munchen Nord.

We got a chance to talk with Liam Carpenter about the series and facing off against a fellow Brit in the playoffs.

“The whole series was just a great experience. They won a tough first game at their place but we bounced right back in Game 2 to win by 40 points which I think shocked a lot of people so Game 3 was all to play for. The final game was close all the way until Jules led them to pull away from us. He is the main guy for them running their team, scoring and making plays off ball screen situations. He played phenomenal in this game to advance them to the next round.”

We want to congratulate both Jules and Liam for their efforts and how they continue to represent British Basketball to the fullest.

An extra mention for Jules Dang-Akodo who continues to flourish for the Skyliners where he again put in a stellar performance for the Pro B Men team netting a team high 23 points last week against the Seawolves.
