Current #6 ranked player Kyle Carey has committed to the University of Northern Colorado, adding more UK players to NCAA Division 1 basketball next season.

Carey moved up 3 positions during mid-ranking where he is showing that he may continue to rise even further looking to finish in the Top 5 for the camps final rankings of the 2015/16 season.

He has shown to dominate the EABL this year leading Myerscough College to an undefeated regular season on his way to being named West Conference Player of the Year. This was down to averaging 19.1 PPG & 9.5 RPG whilst leading the country in efficiency showing the immense talent this young man has.

We got a chance to catch up with Kyle before he sets off to Colorado, where this opportunity means so much to him.

“It means the world to me & my family to receive this scholarship, to play & study at the collegiate level on a full ride is amazing! My goals are to get better each & everyday, and to remain hungry. I still want more. Looking at the success other UK players are having in the states it’s inspiring and it’ll definitely motivate me to achieve the success they had – if not more.”

It is no secret that the UK’s elite all want to gain a USA scholarship, where Carey is no different.

“I think it’s very important for UK players to get out to the states. It’s a once in a lifetime experience and if the opportunity comes grab it with two hands!”
