Myerscough College student and 2016 camper Ayo Nuwe has committed to Casper College for the 2017/18 season.

The 6’4 versatile wing will follow in the footsteps of fellow 2014 camper Josh McSwiggan who helped guide the Thunderbirds to a 24-9 record in 2016/17 season.

Nuwe, a Manchester native, joined Myerscough in 2015 following a decorated junior career with Manchester Magic under the guidance of Coach Pete Paraskeva who averaged 12 PPG & 8 RPG during the 2016/17 EABL campaign. He commented on his move to Junior College in the USA.

“Myerscough has helped with my mental abilities as I’ve had relied on my physical abilities since I started playing.” Said Nuwe

“Coach Neal Hopkins taught me how to think the game and not just go at 100mph every time.”

“Getting the chance to play Division 1 men’s I have learnt that I needed to add more to my game which is what I plan on doing to prepare for Casper”

“I want to thank Casper for giving me this opportunity and believing in my abilities. This means a lot, I have been blessed with the opportunity to go on to play at a higher level and see what I can do”.

Nuwe closed with what he will be bringing across the pond.

“I’m going to bring my versatility to Casper as I believe that’s the kind of player I am. I’m going to bring my hard work ethic to get better”

From everyone at DENG Camp we want to wish Ayo all the success at Casper College.
