We are thrilled to announce the addition of a brand new U16 All-Star Game to our annual UK camp.

Always looking to add new and meaningful concepts, putting on an All-Star game for the future UK elite players fits in perfectly with the goals of the camp.

Many players competing in the game will be fresh off competing in the FIBA U16 European Championships giving them another exposure platform to showcase their talent.

Camp Director, Steve Vear discusses the importance of adding this new addition.

“Every year we want to add more purpose to the camp. With the addition of the U16 All-Star Game we not only get to showcase the future generation but it also gives us a chance to look more closely at many players who will very likely be selected for future camps.”

The game will stay in line to honour the late legendary Coach Humphrey Long where the MVP of the game will receive the award in his name.

Long was known to produce some of the best junior players in the UK and had a major influence on getting many players started in the game early. The U16 All-Star Game really fits with what he stood for.

Coach Long’s daughter Margaret is excited with the addition that really speaks volumes to what her Dad was all about in UK basketball.

“Our family is very excited with the introduction of the U16 All-Star Game and the kind gesture of the MVP being given in honour of our father in recognition of his passion for and dedication to developing youth basketball.”

“We would like to take this opportunity to wish all concerned “good luck” for a successful inaugural U16 All-Star Game.”

You can watch the U16 All-Star Game on Saturday 24th August at 3pm tipping off before our Top 20 Game at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London.

This game will replace our Alumni Game with so many players either in US College or professional leagues, availability was the deciding factor.

Rosters and full details to be announced shortly.

*Player selection was based on competing in U16 National League last season and apart of the GB Player Pathway. Next year we will open up online player nominations for the U16 All-Star Game.
