Current ranked #7 Jacob Round has joined U18 Fuenlabrada in Spain as he continues his impressive basketball journey.

Round is highly rated as the most talented 2000′ Born in the country where he showed out this summer not only at the camp but also for the England Under-16s where he averaged 14.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in the Division B European Championships.

We got a chance to check in with Jacob to find out about what he is expecting with his move to Spain where he will be playing for both the Liga EBA and the U18 teams.

“I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity. Fuenlabrada is a high quality programme with many great players and coaches from which I can learn and continue to develop. However, I am very conscious that I cannot become complacent. I still have a long way to go in my development as a player and will have to work very hard to reach the level I want to.

“My initial goals are to learn as much as possible. Having new coaches and playing with new teammates will provide me with new insights and different perspectives. I also don’t want to compromise my education.”

“DENGTOP50 will be a tremendous help in preparing me for the upcoming season. Luol Deng has always been a huge inspiration for me so watching how he and the other coaches like Coach Ivey, Showalter, and Mantegna conduct themselves as professionals was a great learning experience. I also had the opportunity to speak with Luol Deng and ask about his advice for heading abroad which was invaluable.

“I am so grateful for all of the support that I have received from my teammates and coaches. Most of all I am grateful for the continued support of my family who are a constant source of motivation and encouragement.”

From everyone at DENGTOP50, we want to wish Jacob all the success in Spain.
