Class of 2017 Deng Gak is heading to the University of Miami on a full athletic scholarship.

Gak, who was born in Egypt and grew up in Australia, is of Sudanese descent and a 6-foot-11 four star recruit. He joins the Hurricanes from the same high school as Luol (Blair, NJ) being one of the highest recruited players out of high school in the nation. This is evident with Gak being rated No. 16 among centers by ESPN and the No. 93 player overall.

Coach Joe Mantegna who is present at all of the camps is happy for Gak and sees a very bright future ahead of him.

“Deng is a special kid and deserves what he has achieved. He has worked so hard since arriving at Blair and look forward to seeing him grow even more under Coach Jim Larranaga at Miami.”

We want to wish Deng all the success in his future at the University of Miami.
