2015 camper and Manchester Magic product Kaiyem Cleary has joined Redemption Christian Academy for the 2017-18 season.

The 6ft 6″ Wing comes off a very productive year in the EABL for Loreto College as the second leading scorer with 20.9 PPG as well as adding an impressive 8.4 RPG whilst shooting 60.4 FG% and 81.1 FT%.

“I had a few prep school options but I chose RCA as it was away from all distractions and also the schedule was very good so I would receive a lot of exposure which would help me obtain my D1 scholarship.”

“My overall goal this year is get a Division 1 scholarship and play NCAA college basketball. This year I will primarily focus on becoming a more consistent shooter and play maker. Improving my shot and court vision will make me more of a threat as I will be able to distribute the ball rather than just score the ball.”

The sharp shooting player also comes off the back of being crowned a silver medalist this summer with the Great Britain U18 Men’s squad averaging 5.5 PPG & 3.1 RPG gaining promotion into Division A.

“Playing for Great Britain was a phenomenal experience. Being there for 2 weeks makes you a more mature basketball player and forces you to learn more about the game – causing you to improve your knowledge of the game at a great rate.”

We want to wish Kaiyem all the success at RCA.
