Barking Abbey alumnus and #6 ranked 2014 camper Calvin Nevill-Kintu has transferred to Western Wyoming Community College for the upcoming 2017/18 season.

The 5ft 10″ Point Guard was recently at the #1 ranked Junior College in the nation, Vincennes University where we got to speak with him to find out more about why he transferred and his future goals.

“My first school (Vincennes) wasn’t really the best fit for me! I went to a power house school which was ranked number 1 in the nation where seeing the court at times was tough.” Nevill-Kintu said.

He will now play alongside current #6 ranked Amin Adamu which he is looking forward to.

“I’m excited heading to Western Wyoming this year where the teams looking real good especially playing alongside Amin who I used to play with when I was 11 years old at our old club NASSA.

“I really feel we can do big things this upcoming year where my goals remain the same aiming to receive a scholarship to move on from my school and also striving in my education.”

“I would like to thank coach Joe Mantegna who played a big role in my recruitment which I’m very grateful for.

“Also coach Lloyd Gardner who has been my coach since I was 14 and has always looked out for me since I joined Barking Abbey. This year he has been like a mentor for me in terms of being the best Point Guard I can be and also being the best person – so I would like to thank those two.”

We want to wish Calvin all the success in his future at Western Wyoming.
